Outside of my profession I am a short story writer, a cowboy and horseman, and a Dad. My short stories appear regularly as competition winners in the local newspaper and regional magazines.

I show American Quarter Horses, and have won the Versatility Ranch Horse National Finals in 2009, won overall third place finishes at the National Western Livestock show in Denver, and qualified and attended the World Show in Houston during 2013, and 2014. Riding and training peformance horses has become both a passion and a challenging interest.

My son, Michael, age 31, joined me in my practice in 2007 after graduation from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. He is now Director of Recruiting and Training in the Northwestern Mutual Tucker agency in Washington DC. My daughter Kristen, age 28, graduated from Fordham University, Lincoln Center, New York in 2008, has traveled the world extensively, and is now an entrepreneur in Portland, Oregon.
